The government held an FGD in the Mandalika SEZ to prepare a competent workforce, particularly in the hospitality sector, to support the zone's investment, which had reached Rp6.06 trillion and absorbed 20,862 workers as of Q1 2026. Manpower Minister Yassierli highlighted the national internship program as a solution to address workforce mismatch, backed by a Rp6.26 trillion budget for apprenticeships starting July 2026. PT ITDC and BBPVP East Lombok are also preparing training for around 6,000 participants, including in hospitality. This synergy among the government, zone management, and businesses is expected to strengthen an adaptive workforce ecosystem to support Indonesia's 5.4% national economic growth target in 2026.
