Indonesia and India have strengthened their strategic partnership in higher education by signing an MoU between PT Intelegensia Grahatama, the manager of the Singhasari Special Economic Zone, and IIM Bangalore, coinciding with Indian PM Narendra Modi's visit to Indonesia. The collaboration will initially roll out an International General Management Program along with certification and leadership training, with plans to eventually offer diploma and degree programs, including a Global MBA, once regulatory requirements are met. This partnership positions Singhasari as an international education hub for Indonesia and ASEAN, strengthening bilateral ties in management education, digital transformation, and talent development.
The series of SEZ development evaluation meetings continued with a site visit to the Galang Batang SEZ and Bintan Industrial Estate on Saturday, October 7 2023. This visit is a strategic step in order to encourage economic development and investment in the Riau Islands.
In order to support the development of the Bali SEZ, President Joko Widodo has issued Presidential Decree Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Bali Province SEZ Regional Council, which appoints the Governor of Bali as Chair of the Regional Council, the Mayor of Denpasar as Deputy Chair of the Regional Council, the Regional Secretary of Bali Province as ex-officio Secretary of the Regional Council, as well as other members of the Regional Council.
